You've probably heard mixed reports about drinking coffee while you're breastfeeding. The last thing you want to do it put strain on your baby's little liver, but surely your morning latte can't be that bad.
This amazingly nutritious sticky fluid is full of carbohydrates, proteins and antibodies. It's super easy to digest, and designed to have high impact at low volumes - perfect for tiny newborn bellies that can hold only 5-7ml.
If your breasts are leaking it's probably a good sign. You're making plenty of milk, and your body and baby are trying to sync up their magical 'supply and demand' agreement for the long term.
Tongue-tie occurs in about 5% of babies, and is more common for males than females. If you think your baby isn't latching properly, if it hurts to feed, or if you baby doesn't seem to be extracting much milk this is definitely something worth exploring.
Once you've got breastfeeding under control, and you feel confident and pain-free in a traditional hold, we recommend trying out some different positions.
